Check the process with the highest memory usage in Linux.

On Linux, you can use the top command to view the current system’s processes, including the ones consuming the most memory. Here are the steps to view the processes consuming the most memory.

  1. Open the terminal.
  2. Enter the following command and press Enter:
top
  1. The highest point
  2. percentage of memory
  3. Pressing the combination of Shift and the letter M on a keyboard.

Please note that the top command will continue to display process information and refresh at the default update rate. To exit the top command, press the Ctrl + C keys.
