Does Cassandra support transactions?
Yes, Cassandra does support transactions, however its transaction model differs from traditional relational database management systems (RDBMS). In Cassandra, atomicity can only be guaranteed within a single partition, not across multiple partitions. Therefore, transactions in Cassandra are often referred to as “lightweight transactions” and it is up to the application developers to ensure data consistency. Cassandra also provides optimistic concurrency control mechanisms to handle concurrent access and conflicts.
