How can hot deployment be achieved in SpringBoot?

Spring Boot’s hot deployment can be achieved by using the Spring Boot DevTools. The DevTools is a development toolkit that offers convenient features for developers, including hot deployment.

To achieve hot swapping in a Spring Boot project, you first need to add the following dependencies to the pom.xml file.

<dependency>
    <groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
    <artifactId>spring-boot-devtools</artifactId>
    <optional>true</optional>
</dependency>

To start the Spring Boot project in the IDE, make sure that the auto-build feature is enabled. In IntelliJ IDEA, you can select the “Build project automatically” option in Preferences -> Build, Execution, Deployment -> Compiler.

After starting the Spring Boot application, you can directly save changes to the code, and Spring Boot DevTools will automatically detect the code changes and reload the application, enabling hot deployment functionality.

It is important to note that Spring Boot DevTools are only intended for use during the development phase and are not recommended for use in a production environment.
