How to switch to the main directory of the root user in Linux?

Open the terminal: In a Linux system, open the terminal application. This can usually be found in the application menu or launcher.

Switch to the root user: Input the following command in the terminal and press Enter:

   sudo su -

This will prompt you to enter the password of the current user. After entering the password, you will gain root user privileges.

Switch to the root user’s home directory: Input the following command in the terminal and press Enter:

   cd ~

Alternatively, you can simply enter the following command:

   cd /root

This will change the current working directory to the root user’s home directory.

You have now successfully switched to the root user and entered its home directory. Please be very careful when performing operations at the root user level to avoid unintentionally modifying or deleting important system files.
