There are 4 ways to view processes in Linux.

  1. To display the processes currently running on the system, use the ps command in the terminal. Commonly used options include ps -ef and ps aux, which show detailed information about all processes.
  2. By using the top command, you can constantly see the processes running in the system and how system resources are being used. Inputting the top command in the terminal and pressing “Shift + P” allows you to sort processes by CPU usage.
  3. By using the htop command, you can easily display detailed information about processes and system resources in a more intuitive and user-friendly way compared to the top command.
  4. Utilize gnome-system-monitor: gnome-system-monitor is a graphical process management tool that can be opened by entering the command gnome-system-monitor in the terminal. It offers an intuitive interface for easily viewing and managing processes.
