What is Ackers in Storm?
In Storm, Ackers are components responsible for confirming the processing of received tuples. When a Spout or Bolt emits a tuple, Ackers track it and send a confirmation signal back to the emitter once the receiver successfully processes the tuple, ensuring reliable delivery and processing of messages in the topology. The working mechanism of Ackers is similar to the ACK acknowledgment mechanism in the TCP protocol.
